The “Villa
Abbas Coop.” manages with intense delight the handicraft
workroom near the Archaeological Museum.
The skilful craftmen follow the old tradition of ceramics
manufacturing. They also make appreciable copies of the ancient
pottery of the Medio Campidano.
The workroom produces hand-works
with the typical features of the “Cult of waters”, which characterized
all the Medio Campidano’s culture, expecially the territory
of Sardara in pre-nuragic and nuragic time.
The hand-works are ornated with small circles, breast-shape
decorations and zigzag lines. The visitors can commission
and buy nuragic and medieval amphoras, vases and oil lamps
in Museum’s Shop or contacting with “Villa
Abbas Coop.”
Villa
Abbas shows to the visitors a fascinating virtual exhibition of
its products.
The on-line Handicraft Fair guides the virtual tourist through a
cultural interesting way.
Didactic
Activities
Villa Abbas takes care of didactic activities: its cultural operators
have a great competence in cooperating with school, University
and cultural institutions.
The operators give lessons in manufacturing,
reproducing and restoring ancient pottery and nuragic hand-works
like the old “Askos” or
the punic and roman amphoras.
Moreover the lessons guides people
through experimental archaeological ways for expanding the knowledge
of the history of Sardinia.
